As a huge wing commander fan I was on board since the first time they showed Mark Hamill in the teaser all those years ago. Squadron42 nearly had me pledging too. Hindsight I am pretty happy I didn’t since we’re a decade later now. I had it locked away in a closet at the back of my mind but the news that the game got feature complete just brought it right back to the front. No clue if we will see it soon or not. I’d love a 2024 release but given the current Star Citizen status I’m going to assume we are in for a bit longer wait. One thing is for sure though, there shouldn’t be any feature creep anymore. So I have been keeping a semi close eye on Star Citizen for a while now waiting for it to be a more ''complete'' experience as I LOVE space games but would rather play a complete game. I have known about the singleplayer experience of SC for a while but never expected it to be what was just shown. So my question is; what is this exactly? Is this a full blown singleplayer expansion to the series? Is it sort of similar to Starfield in the RPG side of things like quests/builds/just exploring and having a ball, I can't tell if this is linear hand made levels (cuz they look that good) or hand hand made open world levels to fully explore at will? Is the smooth gameplay of Squadron also going to be in Star Citizen and Squadron is almost like a big update for the base game? Explain it to me like I am a 6 yr old I need the full rundown because I am now VERY excited for Squadron 42 and have always been excited about Star Citizen and as I imagine most of these improvements will be added to the base game. I just started the game a 2 hours ago . But I am shown that I can start missions from 3rd chapter even tho I haven’t even met Josiah hill yet , for example the missions BROTHER VS BROTHER pulls up also the objectives board it’s super confusing . I'm a huge fan of the series. In fact I started with GTA 1&2. Back before Rockstar was a thing and back before a ton of its iconic DNA and imagery came into play. I frankly feel it's heartbreaking to see GTA1&2 rated so low on so many lists as they had some of the most fun missions in the entire series. By comparison the GTA V missions are dull as dishwater. But that is not the point of this thread. There are enough threads already hating on game X and praising game Y. Question is: where did GTA III's iconic drawing style come from? There, I said it, I oftenly see people downplaying it as "ha ha zappy psycho man/women" and nothing else, but honestly it's such a well paced story compared to Jedi Knight, and doesn't have sith warrior's over-abundance of chosen one super prodigy thing going on throught all of the SW's storyline. Sure, you pretty much are a prodigy chosen one, but game doesn't outright tell you it multiple times in a row and at the end doesn't base your entire position on the council around your inheritance and being special snowflake, title given to you comes from your achievements and choices, not just because you were chosen by the biggest sith on the table. submitted by /u/W_ender [link] [comments] [...]
Edit on 2/21/2024: This is still up-to-date info! Time capsules are still being approved today. It's a slow process, but it's still happening. Not every capsule gets approved, and the ones that do are hand-selected. So if you see anyone saying otherwise, feel free to reference this post :) Use this thread to AMA about time capsules! Edit: A couple important things I want to point out: When a capsule is jettisoned, it's uploaded to the time capsule website where devs manually review them. A dev must approve a capsule before it starts showing up in the game. Around 40 time capsules are placed in your game as you explore, and only spawn in surface biomes. Time capsules can come from any game mode, but they are platform-specific. Which means PC will only get capsules from other PC players, Switch from Switch players, etc. A list of blacklisted items can be found here. There have been some fantastic questions so far. RIFT is temporarily removing the max character limit per shard for transfers but suggest no more than 14 per shard so all characters are visible and playable. This is a nice change for players who would otherwise have to delete characters. A player who had paid to raise their character slots to the max 13 per shard and had used them all would face the loss of 39 characters with this shard merge. Every so often I go into Rift to look at the scenery and get inspired for some color schemes. I logged in today to find that Faeblight, the shard that has always had most of my characters on it is "Locked", not just down. Did gamigo scrap a lot of shards? Is there any way to retrieve my characters? I don't know what to think, I would imagine if it was down for maintenance it would say "Down", not Locked. I did see a Twitter post about scheduled maintenance happening today April 9th at 8 am UTC... which I believe is 12 noon EST. Commanders, Please be advised that the Crew Conversion in the Barracks is a one time thing! Make sure that you are sending all the unwanted crew members (if they meet the conversion conditions) to your Barracks before clicking the convert button, or else you might not be able to convert untrained crews.
